The countdown to 2011 starts now. If you’re the resolution type, here is a little inspiration for promises to keep in the new year.
1. Spend more time with family and friends. It’s so easy to take the most important people in your life for granted, so make sure to fully appreciate and embrace those you love the most.
2. Put down the blackberry/laptop/iPad/iPhone and tune into the real world. You know who you are.
3. Do something charitable to help others.
4. Review your finances, manage debt. If you failed to meet this goal (or ignored it completely) in 2010, make it a priority in 2011.
5. If you exercise, you’re all set. If you don’t, GET ON IT.
6. Make your health a priority. Start by adding at least ONE healthy habit to your daily life, whether it’s cutting down on sugary snacks or drinking more water each day. Your body will thank you in 2011.
7. Try not to pre-judge others. We all have stereotypes whether we like it or not, so its important to give people a chance.
8. Turn off the TV every once in a while. There is SO much brainless (albeit enticing) programming on television today. Read a book, rehash the day’s events with your spouse, or catch up with an old friend over the phone or an impromptu dinner date.
9. Don’t let work stress you out. Sure, eradicating stress entirely is a bit of a stretch, but once in a while make sure to sit back, take a deep breath, and look at the big picture. There is so much more to life than annoying emails, endless meetings, and office politics.
10. Worry less, enjoy yourself more.
Not sure any of these will work? Check out these strangely interesting New Year’s Resolutions, illustrated with pictures.
Happy 2011!
